Yes, I think this is true. There seem to be things which gerbils never
forget :-( Could we say that they forget their friends after a few days
but never their enemies?
Or is there a chance to reintroduce two gerbils who fought ast a later
time of their lives, e.g. when they are both widowed.

So what do you think. He's been alone for nearly 2 months now. I never
tried to introduce him to a young male or female. Could I risk trying
this or in his case would you not dare to ever give him company again. I
feel so sorry for him being alone. :-(

Thanks for any input on this.
