They will have lots of breeding pairs sent to them, produce lots of pups
without caring where they go to as long as they get money for the. And
once they find out that there is no money to be made in breeding gerbils
they get rid of them again no matter how. Maybe to try if another pet is
more profitable to mass breed.

No, there is really no way to make money from breeding gerbils without
making them suffer. Only big mills can make money e.g. out of producing
feeder animals in masses (and under what conditions!). And they may make
a little aditional money with rare colours.
