Hai all-
This annoucement is kind of late, but Kay and Ninja had their second
litter 1/20/00! I wasn't expecting it so early, they only had their last
litter 12/16, and there was five pups. Again, in their second litter, they
had five! Kay seems to have inherited her mommy's "every litter is going to
be 5 pups" gene. LOL Anywho.. it seems to be 4 boys and 1 girl, and let me
tell you, I have NEVER seen a litter of pups this FAT before!! It's so
strange, you can practically sit and count the rolls. lol I guess this is a
product of good and healthy breeding, these pups ancestors go way back to my
first gerbil! (: No big surprises, there's 2 blacks, 1 lilac, 1 argente
cream, and 1 agouti spot. The cream might be spotted, but it's too early to
tell.
I've noticed something with these litters, something that had only
appeared in the black pups at first, but now it's in the agouti. There are
white spots that just seem to be appearing randomly on his back and sides,
that weren't there at birth. Any ideas?
And now for the deaths. Well, sadly Juanita's litter of eight have all passed
on except for one little black boy, Spike. I'm currently hand-raising him,
not an easy job! But even if he doesn't make it.. at least I tried.
