I've read most of the postings about introducing adult gerbils to each other.
But I have a new question on this issue.

We have decided to stop allowing our gerbils to breed. It's too difficult to
find homes for the babies.

Right now, I have 2 pregnant females currently living with their mates.
Ultimately I would like to have the 2 females together and the 2 males
together.
I know how to use the split cage technique.

My question is, has anyone ever tried to introduce 2 pregnant females to each
other? Will they be very territorial and protective because of the babies?
I'd hate to risk having one of the females kill the other one's babies.

One of the mom's is due any day now so I have to get the male out of there
now or she'll wind up pregnant again. The other female just mated several
days ago so it's going to be almost a month before she has her litter.

What should I do??? Thank you for your advice!

Debbie
