It all really depends upon how old they are. But yes you should no matter what...You do not want to lose a pup down those holes. What you will first need to do, is to rub your hands thoroughly in the litter in order to get the scent of the cage on your hands. Using a combination of your hands and that of the litter surrounding the babies, pick them up and GENTLy move them into the new area. Make sure to place the litter of the nest in the new area as well. Be forwarned. The parents may move the babies again. Not because of you or anything, but because they feel that they have to move them arround. Instinctive, you see. It would work if you did separate the two after a period of time and hooked them up with babies of the same sex. But they may fight once the baby gets older, they may not. It is basically a wait and see situation in times like that. Also be warned the gerbils are chewers. They will chew on anything and you may have already noticed this but, they will chew on wood too. So keep a strict watch on your cage for area where they have been chewing because they will chew right through it! Hehehe, I love that about these critters! Anyway, I wish you the best with your friends. Kanayla __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Messenger. http://im.yahoo.com
