Hello to everyone,
I know it has been awhile since i have wrote to the list, but i mostly read
all the posts to learn what i need to, untill i have something to contribute.
I have been waiting patiently for teddy and Merabell or teddy and Java to
have some babys, I figured it would happen sooner or later, well imagine my
surprise when i went to put food in their bowl and check their water and what
did i see, 4 baby gerbils. Scared me to death lol. I think java is the
mother but had to watch to see if i could figure it out. She has moved them
from the top tank to the bottom tank. I also saw merabell move one of the
pups back with the others, I wonder if she is going to help them raise them.
What are some of the signs i need to be aware of that merabell might be
trying to hurt the babies. I am not saying she is but i want to be aware
just in case she starts. Java when she took the first baby downstairs
dropped it then went over and burrowed under the litter, then she got the
baby and went under ground with it and left it. Then she went up fast as
lightning and brought the other 3 down, These she didnt go underground with,
is this normal? why would she bury the one pup but not the others, After
she had all 4 down their she ran back up to the top like she was looking for
another pup, or maybe the first pup. I wondered if she forgot she buried it.
I was worried about that first pup so i un buried it after a few minutes.
Not sure if i should have done that or not. Teddy nipped me on my finger as
well as java, I guess they didnt like my hand around the nest area. DO yall
just leave them alone or what. Not sure if they were born today or last
night. Anyway now that my babies are finally here i am sure ill be posting
more as i am new to little babys and just as yall i want them to grow big and
strong, and be well. I am so excited about this. I cant wait untill my
oldest gets out of school so i can tell her about the babies. She will be so
excited. anyway. I know i have a home for 1 of them, i plan on keeping 2 of
them, but may keep 3 depending on what sex they are. I am going to seperate
the males from the females when the time is right.

Yall have a great day, please add me to the Jan pup count. Email me if you
need more info.

Thanks
Teresa
