You want to take the sides off the tank? Don't break it, you'll just make
a mess, and likely hurt yourself. Don't use a blade, same reason. If it's
at all like my tanks, I'd go to the hardware store and tell the guy there I
needed some solvent that would dissolve waterproof caulk. Then I'd get some
gloves and a mask and maybe some goggles (I'm kind of a safety freak) and
apply the caulk very carefully to the seams. Use some duct tape on the
outside of the tank to keep it together while you work, you don't want it
coming loose while you do it. If you're just taking out a side this should
work, although why you would want to do this is beyond me. This is,
however, probably the safest route to go with. Don't wear a shirt or pants
you like while handling the solvent, and make sure you wash and rinse
everything when you're done. The glass shouldn't retain any of the solvent,
so your gerbs should be OK after. As always, this is an adult kind of
chore. Standard disclaimers apply.
