Gerbil's like most rodents have yellow fronts to the teeth. The back of
the teeth tends to be white. This is because the front, which you see,
has very thick enamel. The combination of soft enamel less teeth with a
thick enamel front is that the teeth wear to a chisel shape, ideal for
cutting through things.
