I realize that the size of pups will differ, but could someone tell me the
average size of a six week old pup, one that is ready to be sold? When we
got our boys they were already about 3 months old and we have not been
around any pups (Thankfully Tana knows how to sex gerbils). 8-) I have
looked on several web pages but could not find any mention of size, only
age.
The reason I ask is that we were at the local pet shop the other day and
saw some baby gerbils for sale. They seemed kind of small to us. Without
their tails they were about 2 to 2 1/2 inches long. I just wondered if
they were really old enough to be sold.
They were very cute though. There were five of them. Four of them were
sitting in a food dish asleep. They were all upright so they looked kind
of like a gerbil bouquet in a big vase. The fifth one was running around
the aquarium and occasionally running over the sleepers, with only minimal
disturbance on their parts. We stood there for awhile enjoying the show,
then I told my husband that I had to get out of there or we were going to
be taking them home. 8-) It is a good thing we had the boys to go home to
or I don't think we could have stood not buying two (or more!). 8-)
