It would be better to leave them in and for you to also feed them. Only
if you are sure she is not feeding them at all, or she appears to be
chasing them or injuring them, should you remove them. Even a bad gerbil
mother is probably going to do a better job than hand feeding. But hand
feeding as a supplement to a little help from the mother is probably
better.
