I had this little feeding ledge on a tree for my squirrels to eat their corn
and one morning as usual I went out and put the corn out there on the ledge
and came back into the house. The ledge is right infront of my kitchen
window and I was standing there doing dishes and low and behold this little
squirrel was eating when down came this hawk and swoop it went. I felt so
terrible. I rehab alot of squirrels and this past two weeks we have had
right much snow so I put out extra food and the little squirrels, many of
whom I have rehabbed this past year, were eating and I looked up and there
were three hawks out there. I ran out the door and said not again and stood
out there so they wouldn't come down and they eventually flew off. I try each
day now to watch for the hawks because small mammals are alot of their sourse
of diet. Rats and so on. I also have baby ducks and have to watch them as
well. I most certaintly keep an eye on my dachshund for they'd think that
they'd hit the jackpot for she a fat little thing. Regards, Ginny
