Peekaboo, my female breeder, had her third litter on January 28. For the
first few days she seemed very proud of the babies (6), but when I ventured
to pick up two of them one day, she got very upset. She hauled the two I'd
handled into a large cardboard tube in the aquarium, then carried the
remaining four there, also. She keeps the ends of the tube blocked up with
bedding and digs her way in and out, but I haven't seen the pups since. I
can hear them squeaking periodically, so I know they're okay, but ... is this
common behavior? Or, is she flipping out? She chased her second litter
around and bit at them so much, I finally removed them at just under four
weeks. Has anyone else experienced behavior like this?
