Something occurred to me last night as I was pondering the
odd behavior of some of my pairs lately. Their diet has
undergone a big change as I have had to start ordering food
online. It's hard to find things that don't have sunflower
seeds. I ordered small bags of 4 kinds hoping one would be
good and something I could stick with. I was disappointed
at the huge amount of sunflower seeds. I've been picking
some out and adding in unsweeted cereal, but they still are
getting more fat in their diet then they are used to. The
stuff I fed them before had no sunflower seeds at all, and
they got pumpkin seeds only occasionally as a treat.
I am wondering if diet can affect behavior? As well as the
fighting some of my gerbs are awfully hyper lately. I went
and got some more stuff today to mix in their food, and am
planning to pick out ALL the seeds (there are so many I
could package and sell them!!)
