Peekaboo, my nutmeg female, and mother of the clan, was chasing her two-week
old pups around their aquarium yesterday. I thought that perhaps they were
just annoying her (you know how moms can get!) but now I'm wondering if it
was something else.
When I came home from work today, one of the babies was dead -- lying cold
and stiff in the corner of the cage, face up. I couldn't find any visible
sign of death. She never even got to open her eyes. :-(
I realize that it's not unusual for a pup to die for no apparent reason, but
I wondered if anyone might have any ideas about it.
