Hi all! Since we're all telling each other about our gerbils, I thought I
would tell you all about my lovely five.

First off, I live in the south west of England.

In June last year, I got three male gerbils, one black, one cinnamon with
red eyes and an agouti. The black one is Murray, the cinnamon in Seth and
the agouti called Theo.

They originally all lived together. At that point I didn't know three
gerbys together will fight, and the inevitable happened. Murray and Seth
were fighting but luckily my boyfriend separated, losing a chunk of his
finger in the process!

Seth and Murray are fine, but Murray now lives on his own. We hope to get
him a companion but locally gerbys are hard to come by and I don't want to
ship. However, he gets loads of attention and I think he enjoys the peace
and quiet! Theo was really sweet towards Seth after the fight and tucked
him up in bed and licked his wounds, which were very slight. He is such a
sweet natured gerby!

The other two are female and I got them late last year. One is a pied
cinnamon called Taylie, and the other is a pied agouti called Cairina.
Taylie, I got from a book of baby names. It is from a Rwandan name
"Mutetaylie" meaning "delicate". Kind of cute eh? Cairina, is the Latin
name for "duck". Strange, I know, but I love ducks and Cairina is a nice
name too! Taylie and Cairina are really hyperactive and are always digging
or chewing or up to something!

Tomorrow, I am getting three more female gerbils. I shall most likely split
them in case of any fighting, and maybe Murray will become a daddy! So, any
good pages on basic gerby genetics would be much appreciated!

As well as these, I have a rabbit called Martin, a Syrian hamster called
Alanya, and two guinea pigs called Sasha and Angel. I am also getting two
more guinea pigs tomorrow!

Hope you all enjoyed reading this and it isn't too long!

Andreana, Murray, Seth, Theo, Cairina, Taylie, Martin, Sasha, Angel,
Alanya, the new additions tomorrow, and all the pets who have passed away
who I have been priviledged to know.
