Drooling Gerbil

Hey:

    Today I got a female grey somethign (she was aa, had self color) female.
 She was really sweet and she was perfect, but then she started to drool
uncontrollably.  I don't know what it was that happened, but she was losing a
lot of water so I took her back to the pet store to get my money back.  I
didn't want to risk a death.  Hopefully I'll be getting gerbils from ft.
worth when I go this weekend.  =(  any idea what that could have been?
