Hi Jamie!

Read the Gerbil FAQ by Michelle Haines (right?). The National Gerbil Society
has a copy of the faq. Go the http://www.gerbils.co.uk/ to find this very
important document. The gerbil FAQ will tell you all the basics of breeding
gerbils that even your vet doesn't know!

But, to answer your question, it is a very bad idea to seperate the male from
the female. The male can help in raising the pups and shouldn't eat the
babies (although in other rodents, the male may eat the babies). But, it is
probably too late now. Re-uniting adult gerbils can be very difficult. The
upside to all this is that you won't have to worry about having too many
litters!

Please read the gerbil FAQ because this will answer many of your questions
regarding gerbil breeding!

Good Luck!
