One of Cookies daughters, born Nov 98 and owned by one of my Co-workers,
(Blaze a Lilac pied female) has a black spot on the outside corner of
her eye, opposite her nose. Before the vacation the spot was small now
the spot is bigger.(size is same as uppercase O on typewriter) Its not
raised but flat. It looks like the black spot seen on dogs
elbows.(Callous) Has anyone seen this among their gerbils? If it was a
problem with the tear duct or haberdarian gland would the spot be on the
inside of the eye instead?

A dark spot on the eye is probably a haemorrhage. Sub-conjunctival
haemorrhages in humans are not series (although they look impressive)!

The spot is not on the eye itself but on the outside of the eye. See
drawing below. My digital camera hasn't been working for a while.
