A gerbil show would be great. Perhaps a hamster, Rat or mouse club would
allow Gerbils to enter under their pocket pets division ?

 It is difficult to bring everyone together in the USA because of the
problems assocated with traveling long distances. In 1998, Members of
the GML decided to have an internet photo contest. This was the next
best thing to a gerbil show in the states.
