I'm not officially on the list at the moment, but I wanted to share with you a story
that might make you smile. My little Rubin decided tonight, when he was out running
on my desk, that he would take a nibble at the plastic ink bottle on one of the
shelves. I didn't realize that he had done this until I started noticing blue
footprints everywhere. I captured Rubin and discovered that his feet, his chest, his
mouth and chin and various other body parts were all blue (he's argente creme). The
little stinker. I attempted to wash him off with a damp rag and mild soap, rinsing
his feet in a shallow basin of water. I even called poison control to make sure he
wasn't going to die from ink poisoning or something (the lady was nice. She humored
me and got a little chuckle out of it). He seems fine- just a little bedraggled, and,
well... BLUE. Leave it to a gerbil to always find new ways of getting into trouble!

:)

This is, of course, one of the reasons why I love gerbils so much. :) :) :)
