Greetings!
I'd like to start by saying hello again! I've not been on the list in
forever :). I have a question about my white trio (well, now white duo),
but I'll give a bit of background on it right now.
I bought my white trio about a year ago when I fell in love with them at a
pet shop. (3 REW's Khatsuito Sasami and Washu). They have been living
happily together without even a scuffle, untill today. I went to work today
as always, and said good-bye to my gerbies and let them know i'd see them at
lunch. Well, I came back at lunch to a horrid smell in the room where I
keep them. And to my shock, Washu was dead lying on one part of the
aquarium with his insides strung in a straight line across the rest of the
aquarium. Khatsuito and Sasami had blood on thier noses, so I suspected
them. I removed the corpse, and will clean the cage soon, but I am
wondering why this happened and what I should do. I noticed that washu
would lean to the left every once in a while, but i thought that was some
genetic problem in REW's. Would they kill him if he was sick? Will this
happed again?
I appreciate any help I can get. Oh, and by the way, Fred and Ginger just
turned 4 years old yesterday. Isn't that odd? I though gerbs were only
supposed to live 3 years. But my elderly friends are as happy and energetic
as ever.
Thanks Again!
Christopher
p.s. - Bill (hope i got the right name), did you ever find all of your
escapees?
