yea i think so. i was just thinking like this:

lets say i have a two males: a siamese and a burmese. Then I have siamese
and burmes females. If i want a siamese/siamese mating, i could switch them
to have siamese/siamese and burmese/burmese in the two compartments. and if i
wanted burmese/siamese, i could change them around to get the crosses. This
is gonna take some time to think about it and find any drawbacks... it might
be a good thinng to know if you are breeding for different colors.

ok... lets say i have them separated, male and female. then i do a
siamese/siamese in one compartment, then a burmse/burmese mating in the
other. how would i time the changes? lets say they have their littler...
and i take the males out and put into maybe a third compartment, together...
then when the mommas are done with the littlers i could take put them back
together and the males into their compartment or something. any new thoughts?
