Well, I was in PetCo today, and I was talking to the Assistant Manager
about gerbils, and she asked me if I'd have room for a "special"
gerbil. So she took me back to meet "Stumpy," who only has three
legs. Apparently his owner brought him in and surrendered him after
he broke and chewed off one of his back legs. How could I turn down a
guy with three legs? So he's in my extra tank. He's just a regular
black gerbil, and he looks to be fairly young, maybe three and a half
or four months old. He's just now starting to get his adult body, so
he's skinny and he has a skinny tail.
Stumpy is alone, but there is a lone agouti male back at the store.
The agouti is approximately the same age, but perhaps two or three
weeks younger. What do you guys think the odds are that I could
successfully introduce them? If the odds are fairly good, I'd take a
chance. But I absolutely cannot wind up with another lone gerbil
tank.
