If anyone is interested, I took some pictures of Verence, the Dove with
dark spots I got from Lisa Harrell, and put them up at

The pictures aren't wonderful, but you can see the odd spots he has.
They've stayed the same for months, so they appear to be permanent. I'm
going to try to breed more spotted gerbs. He had 3 litters with a sister
and there were no spots, but she was a nutmeg or something... I have him
with a sapphire daughter.
