We have problems like this as well with Norm, our gerbil patriarch. Our
solution is to designate an old shirt as the "Norm-holding" shirt. Everytime
we hold Norm, this button-down shirt is worn. He can nibble holes in this
shirt all he wants without damaging our "good" shirts.
