Hi everyone,

I have a problem, I hope you can make me understand it better.
I own 8 male gerbils that all live two by two in large terrariums. Friday I
got a new baby gerbil for my schimmel that lost its old friend a few weeks
ago. He's very happy with his new friend, the introduction was no problem
at all. They washed each other and later on went asleep together.
In the cage next to the introducee I just discovered some blood though. I
checked the gerbils and one seems to have his backpaw chewed off. His
companion behaves normally so I don't think he did it. To be sure I put
them in a split cage.
A few years ago, when I was very involved with the gml I once read about a
gerbil that kept on gnawing his own feet, it was a horrible story, I hope
this gerbil won't continue with his behaviour. Do you know what to do now?

greetings, marielle
