Well, after reading the info on the sites everyone sent (BTW thanks guys!),
we decided gerbils couldn't be any harder than rats, a dog and kids LOL.
Yesterday while playing on excite classifieds I saw an ad for gerbil
babies-seems someone at the petstore didn't sex the two they bought right and
they now had 9: X
We adopted two little boys. They are black and white. Mostly black with an
area of white that goes over the top of their heads and shoulder area sorta
like this : l

Well, hopefully you get the picture. I looked on the color page but the
closest I could come to them was a pied agouti (for markings anyway) and
their feet are white. I never did see any black and whites though. My sons
have named them Speedy and Sonic.
I guess my husband has never paid to much attention to gerbils in pet stores
because it wasn't till he got home from work and went to hold one of them
that he realized what a gerbil was LOL His exact words? " Hey, I caught one
of these when I was in Saudi" LOL I told him "well they are a desert animal
LOL
