Hi Gary,
No I keep them in a 30cm layer of wood shavings, hay, carton boxes and
carton carpet tubes and some tissues for their nest.
On the side of the cage there is a table with their food, sand-bowl and a
ball, and when I think about it, it could have been his ball maybe. It's a
solid plastic ball, but attached to a self-made wooden stand, maybe he got
his paw between it when his friend was running in it. But it is strange his
toes are damaged and his heel, the foot between it isn't damaged.
I think for their new cage I'll keep the table with their playthings but
I'll put less tubes and shavings in, they can get to frightened in it.
I watched your gerbil page, it seems your gerbs are having a lot of fun!
