It is most obvious when standing, but they can do it on all fours. They
will move their head slowly to one side, then either quickly, or slowly,
move it back the other way.

Not all PEWs are affected, and some ruby eyed gerbils also do it.
Although only the most dilute colours seem affected. For example, I have
never seen an Argente do it, but I have seen a Cream do it.

It may be something to do with animals that have both pp and at least
one c[h].

In mice it has been shown that it is nothing to do with eye colour as
such, it is just that certain genetic combinations cause a problem
between the interface between the retina and the optic nerve. The eye
colour is just another result of these genes.
