In response to all your questions :)
Right now I am 15 years old and the previous
occasion when I had a colony of gerbils was when I was 10 or so I believe (I
have bad memory! hehe). I remember that in the beginning I had 2 males and one
female and the males started fighting over the wellfare of the babies that were
produced. On the second occasion I had the same scenario except with a different
female and one different male, and the other male was the same. The male that
produced the previous litter lived to 5 and a half years old! I taught him how
to respond to commands using my fingers so that he would jump, lay down and eat
:) He was really cool :)
As for the Geckos...I am also studying
herpetology but am having a recently stronger interest in gerbils and other
rodents again. I have had several geckos (3 leopards, 2 striped fat
tails) who are all now gone...I find that gerbils are more active and
inquizitive than reptiles, and are less difficult to care for. I currently have
one okatee corn snake but am probably going to sell it in the near future due to
lack of interest...since it tends to bite for some reason (and yes, I am
handling it correctly).
Hope that answers a few,
Jason :) |
