I HIGHLY do NOT recommend this combination....rats are very territorial
animals, not to mention much bigger than gerbils....although I can't say as
I've actually tried the combination, but I have had both species as pets in
the last couple years and my rats never got along with anybody (In fact, one
rat even ate my baby bird :o(....and they arn't always the sweetest with
each other either...rats are best kept alone in my opinion.....
