..this is strictly speculation so no offense intented in any way:
I have found that a diet rich in natual oils makes any animals coat glossier
and sometimes to the point where it's even greasy.....perhaps you should
double check the animals' diet? Perhaps that particular breed of gerbil
needs a slightly different diet lower in oils?

Hello!
I have a question, do gerbils naturally have greasy coats? I have found
that my two Siamese suffer from greasy coats more profusely than another of
my others, are some varieties more prone to this?
