Hi!
I was wondering if anyone can explain why my two female gerbils, which
are sisters and have been together for 3 years, are suddenly starting to get
aggressive. It's actually only one of the gerbils which is the aggressor.
This gerbil tends to chase the other all around the cage. After the chase
the gerbil that was chased often attempts to reconcile with the chaser by
touching noses and "kissing" her. And yet about 5 or 10 minutes later
another chase ensues. I separated the gerbils overnight and put them back
together in the morning and they seem to be calmer now. They are snuggling
and sleeping together. However, I am worried of another outbreak while I
am at work. Does anybody know why this would occur and what I can do about
it? Nothing has changed in the cage to trigger this outbreak so I am at a
loss to explain it.
Thanks!
Tom Ormrod.
