We just got our second set of gerbils, a male/female pair who are about 5
weeks old and will hopefully be a breeding pair. They seem quite active
compared to our first set and are furtively scratching at the corners of the
temporary cage I just brought them home in. How much room and activity do
baby gerbils need? Would they be okay in the 5 gallon cage for a bit or
should I go ahead and get them a "habitat" straight away? These seem younger
than the first set we got two male litter mates, and I'm not quite sure how
to keep them happy.
