Hi Megan -- If the pair were mating (from my limited experience of
observing this 3 times resulting in 3 litters), the mating behavior would
occur intensively for a few hour period in a single evening. Is this
what you observed? If this is happening over a period of days perhaps it
is a show of dominance. -- Donna A.
