Two or three people recently have had gerbil bloody nose problems, it these
cases some sort of allergic reaction seemed to be the problem: for example --

Gerbils breed the night of the birth, but the gestation is longer with a
second litter when the mom is raising the first. For my gerbil the gestation
was 34 days (almost 5 weeks); I've also hears of second litters as soon as
four weeks after giving birth.

You might just want to keep the mom with one of her female pups as a pair. If
you want to introduce two adult females though it has to be done gradually and
carefully. See these sights for a description of a "split cage method" to
introduce two gerbils.
