Hi Mary,
There are many other colors that have black eyes: black and dark eyed
honey for example.
See the gerbil color palette -- it describes both coat and eye color as
well as genes.

The basic rule is that if a gerbil has P* it will have black eyes,
except for one carrying a chch which is a pink eyed white gerbil.
A gerbil that has pp will have ruby eyes.
Julian or other experts might know of other exceptions to these general
rules of eye color.
