Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd give another update on all my critters. Currently I have 56
gerbils including the newborns. I also have two degu's, two guinea pigs, two
syrian hamsters, 10 dwarf campbell's hamsters, and two spiny mice. Let's
see,,, that's 74 critters in all !!! Can you believe they are all kept in
one room of my house. :o)

Unfortunately, I will soon be separating two more breeding pairs of gerbils.
Gerbil adoption around here has dropped drastically. After I separate Cecil
and Simba (red fox X spotted dove), and Powder and Salty (sp. golden agouti
X pied black), I will still have two breeding pairs together. Those two
remaining pairs are, Erebus and Method (sp. ivory cream X sp. slate). I hope
I will not have to separate these two special pairs.

I wish I was able to ship, but my local post office won't allow it. I don't
have easy access to another post office. Here in the upper peninsula of
Michigan the post offices are far and few in-between.

If the adoptions don't pick up around here, I guess I will just have to get
out the extra tanks and set them up. :o) I probably wouldn't even notice a
few more cages around here. :o)

This is a good lesson for most of us. Be careful when you decide to breed.
Especially if you plan to have more than one breeding pair. They can
multiply quicker than you realize it and you should always be prepare with
extra tanks and water bottles. Plus you also need to handle the expenses of
more food and extra supplies. Don't jump into breeding without fully
thinking it over and knowing that you can handle an over-abundance of
critters. Thankfully my kids help me to take care of all them. My sons
checks water bottles, and my daughter feeds, of course I supervise them. I
do the cage cleaning myself.

I hope everyone is enjoying their critters,

have a nice evening,
