Thanks to everyone who's been trying to help me pin the colors on my rescuee's. I think I have them all short of putting pictures up on the web. And all the other help I've received. Everyone on the forum has been really nice and kind about helping me get up to speed. Thanks again! Everybody here seems to be doing fine. They are all a lot happier with the overcrowding gone. I am still short on waterbottles but that is chronic and I have figured out ways to use the older climbables I normally don't use anymore without letting anyone have an easy way out. I need to update the pup count; now that space is everywhere, food is much better, and everything, it seems everyone's working on a serious population explosion. Gerbils seem to take after dwarf hamsters in that regard <g> I also managed to get ahold of a slew of old leaker aquariums, mostly ten galloners; and some 'expanded' metal mesh that makes GREAT tank lids. They can't get out, and the grating is just coarse enough that the feed will go through it without having to lift the lid. Which means feeding goes faster.... I will be spending the next few days doing some serious rearrangement of the rodentry, building new racks, and ceiling to floor scrubbing. In the end it will get more efficient use of the space I have, plus the monthly room scrub will be out of the way. Just that the weekly tank scrub is also looming. Is it worth it? I think so, when I get to just sit down and PLAY with my little critters. :) When I rescued the gerbils, I thought gerbils were UGLY. Period. Now they're a delight :):):):):) and I'm very glad I adopted all fifty plus of them. Even if they did cause my cage count to soar. ;) Deb Rebel Rebel's Rodent Ranch
