I've gotten a beautiful new gerbil who is barely 8 weeks old. He likes
to come out of the tank and likes to be held, but when he is starled* he
jumps straight in the air, up to about 18 inches (I didn't even know a
gerbil could do that!) He has calmed down remarkably in just the few
days since I've had him.
I'm wondering how much of this jumpi-ness is his personality versus
something that will go away with lots of handling and exposure to
noise? Any idea?
*A sudden motion or sudden loud noise is what I've notices will startle
him.
