Hi Robert -- How exciting. My gerbil litters have all (3) been birthed at 25
days. When the pups get fuzz they'll be about a week old.
Leaving mom and dad to raise the pups is the best idea. I check every day to
make sure there is water in the water bottle. Also, I usually check morning
and night to make sure the pups are all together. At about 10 days I take
them out everyday (be careful when they are blind they will leap out of your
hand and could get hurt -- hold them right over a pillow). They open eyes at
about 20 days.
