My (about) 7 day old pups are now getting a fine coat of fur on them and I was wondering how long I have to wait to identify what color they are. I have one black baby, evident from the skin, so I know that my female agutie, Alexandra carries recessives. Her mate, Nicholas, a black gerbil, has genes which are also unknown. The question I have is at seven days, what gerbil color looks whiteish/ very light brown? The other two pups in the litter look the same(whiteish, as compared to the black pup). Do agutie babies look whiteish at a week old?? please help me solve this problem. Sorry if any of this is confusing. :0) bob
