Donna - Pups can be put together before they are mature.
Pups can be placed with an lone adult male, provided they are smaller
than he is.
When ever you house a group of gerbils together there is a chance, of
something going wrong. To decrease the chances of dominance issues or
territory disputes from happening. Keep their tank simple. If you
connect several tanks together or have many levels, territory disputes
may occur. Also, don't put gerbils tanks containing those of opposite
gender nearby.

I have a group of 4 and they've been ok for a while now.(knock on wood)
I had to put them, into a smaller tank (15 gallon) and keep their tank
simple. (I removed long tunnel)
