Isn't this the same as the play box problem?

Yes Julian you're right, it seems to be the same. Pairs that knew each
other fought when placed into play boxes previously occupied by others.
Perhaps, these boxes also contained their scents as well, and the
dominant one thought their cagemate was the one with the unfamiliar
scent.
Now, Im not so sure, because both views make sense. Members, What do you
think?
