Thumping??????

I know what it means when a male gerbil thumps, but what does it mean
when a female or a pup that isn't of breeding age starts thumping?

I've been trying to figure it out now for about 4 or 5 months. So if
anyone have a thought or an answer to this I would love to hear it. As
you all have noticed we don't post a lot of stuff, but we've learned a
lot from reading what everybody else has posted. Thanks for a the
information you all have put out here.
