Hi GML friends!

We made it Tucson safely with all 8 gerbils, 2 rats, and 2 ferrets. Last
night the gerbils were finally placed back into their spacious aquaria
instead of the smaller bird cages. Now Angel's hair can grow back on her
nose from where it went bald chewing on the cage bars!

We did have two nights of worry on the trip. The first night we were in
Arizona (right by the CA border) it was still 100 F at 11pm so we decided
not to sleep in the camper and got a hotel room instead. We filled all
water bottles with ice water and everyone surived the night (FYI the ferrets
were brought into the hotel room). The next day we made it into Tucson but
couldn't get into the house until the day after that. So it was 3pm and hot
and sunny and we needed to park the truck and turn off the AC. We couldn't
bring the rodents into the hotel room so we needed a way to cool them off.
So, we covered all the cages with wet towels and it worked! The gerbils got
a bit damp but everyone survived the night and the next day we brought into
the air-conditioned house.

That's all for now! My webpage server was down this past month so I haven't
been able to put the trip journal on the web yet.
