If she's showing as noticeably as you describe, you probably have only a
matter of a few days before she gives birth. I know I have one female that
is starting to show, and I expect her to be giving birth sometime this
weekend. One thing to do is to pick her up, if she's noticeably more heavy
than your other gerbil(s) then that's a pretty sure sign, also if her belly
feels firm, this is another sure sign. Be careful though, if you're feeling
her belly, you must be EXTREMELY gentle so as not to harm the unborn pups.

My female gerbil looks pregnant. She is a little pudgy in front of her
hips. Is this a sign that shes going to have pups? How long does she have
if she is pregnant?
