Hi, everyone. My name's Kris and I'm the proud co-owner of 7 beautiful
gerbils. I have two black males (Oreo and Chip-Chip), a pink-eyed white
male (Creampuff), all three of which are still babies, a yellow fox male
(Martin), a lilac male (Winston), and a breeding pair: Reggie, a golden
agouti male, and Smokey, a pied grey female.
I know gerbils tend to be wild about sunflower seeds, as most of mine are,
but Martin, Winston, and Chip-Chip don't seem to like them as much as the
rest. I was wondering what other treats gerbils go nuts for, as I'm trying
very hard to gain their trust.
Martin recently got into a minor spat with his cagemate, Winston, and ended
up with a few minor nips. His paw is fine, but it's his nose I'm worried
about. The poor boy got bit right on his nose and I'm not sure if I should
use a topical antibiotic or not, since he gets kind of wiggly and I'm afraid
I might get some in his mouth or eyes. Should I just let it heal on its
own, or should I use medication?
My final question concerns gerbil shipping. Reggie and Smokey are expecting
their first litter sometime in the first week of August. I should have
homes lined up for their pups by the time they're ready to go at about two
months of age. Could someone give me details on how to make certain the
pups arrive safely if I ship them? I've never done that before, since I've
never found any information concerning it. Feel free to e-mail me privately
at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Thanks for your time.
-Kris
