All my gerbils will climb up my arm given the opportunity. Some of them
dance up and down trying to get my attention if I come in sight of them, so
I'll stick my hand in their tank and they can climb on me. I'm their
favorite toy!! All of them make at least a token effort to avoid being
picked up. A few of them will do ANYTHING to avoid hands coming toward
them, but within a second of two of turning my hand palm down and keeping
my arm still, they reverse direction and run right up to my
shoulder. Silly gerbs :) One of the worst about that actually bit the
vet, I was so embarassed! He was determined to get hold of her so he
could get a good look at her sore nose, but she was even more determined
that was NOT going to happen. She won.
