I am introducing a 7 week old Dove pied male pup to about a 4 -5 week old
sapphire female pup. I thought being so young they may be able to get along
Ok but the male started fighing with the female, chasing her and they did the
curling up in a ball thing. Now I have them in a split tank and am switching
their sides every few hours. I have read to do this for anywhere from 3 days
to two weeks, how long do you think I should continue this before introducing
 them? thanks :) >>
Well for me I can tell how long they need to be in the split cage by how they
are acting with each other through the bars.

===If one of them is attacking the bars and trying to get to the other gerbil
really aggressively, I think they should be in there at least a week (after a
week they should settle down a little bit, if not try a few more days).

===If they are scraching/bitting through the bars and want to hurt the other
one (but not THAT aggressive) I would leave them in there for about 4-7 days.

===If they don't even look LOOK at each other and don't really mind each
other, then they should be in there about 4 days.

===If they are grooming each other through the bars and being all sweet... I
think they should be in there for about a day and if the grooming goes on
then I think they don't even need the split cage, I would just put them
together.

Since the pups are young I don't think they would be THAT vicious to each
other.
